Cash may be an Australian Shepherd, but after watching his latest adventure, his family might start calling him the neighborhood matchmaker.
When Cash encountered a stray dog, he apparently decided that leaving her outside simply wasn’t an option. Instead, he came up with a plan to bring his new friend home.
And the funniest part?
He seemed to know he needed to be sneaky about it.
Home security footage captured Cash approaching the house with the black-and-white stray dog. Before letting his unexpected guest inside, Cash opened the door and appeared to check whether the coast was clear.
Once he seemed satisfied that nobody was going to stop him, the little stray followed him through the doorway.
Her tail was wagging as she happily walked down the hallway.
Cash’s mission was complete.
It looked remarkably similar to a teenager sneaking home after curfew with a friend and hoping their parents don’t notice.
His mom later joked that sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
And judging by Cash’s behavior, he may have been operating under exactly that philosophy.
The Australian Shepherd seemed completely confident in his decision. He had found a dog who needed somewhere safe, and apparently, he already knew where she belonged.

The breed is known for being highly intelligent, independent, and capable of solving problems. Those qualities make Australian Shepherds excellent working dogs—and apparently pretty impressive home negotiators, too.
But while the video is hilarious, there’s a genuinely heartwarming story behind Cash’s unexpected houseguest.
The black-and-white dog wasn’t simply a new friend looking for somewhere to hang out.
She was a stray.
Cash’s mom explained that the dog was found in Pensacola, Florida. She contacted local shelters and took the dog to a veterinarian to have her scanned for a microchip, hoping to locate her family.
Until her owners can be identified, the stray is safe and being cared for.
So Cash’s unusual decision may have actually helped give another dog a safe place to land.
And perhaps that’s what makes the whole situation so sweet.
Cash didn’t know whether the dog had a family waiting for her or how long she had been on her own. He simply encountered another dog and apparently decided she shouldn’t be left outside.
His solution was remarkably straightforward:
Bring her home.
