There are troublemakers. There are masterminds. And then there’s Chloe Joy.
For seven years, Chloe Joy, better known as CJ, has been a regular at a pet resort in Arkansas.
The rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound is sweet, curious and clever, with a reputation for getting into trouble when food is involved.
But her latest stunt may be her most impressive yet.
She didn’t simply sneak away.
She broke everyone out.
It Started With A Smell
The day seemed completely normal at the daycare. The dogs were safely settled inside their playrooms while staff members were briefly occupied at the front of the building.
Then CJ smelled something interesting.
Food.
More specifically, food coming from the break room.
For a dog with an incredible nose and an appreciation for snacks, that was all the motivation she needed.
CJ decided to investigate.
And she apparently decided her friends should come along for the adventure.
The Great Escape
CJ walked over to the gate separating the dogs from the rest of the building.
Then she stood on her hind legs and used her nose to push the latch open.
The gate swung free, and CJ was out.
But she didn’t stop there. She led the other dogs out of their playroom, turning the daycare into pure canine chaos.
When staff members returned to the back, they found dogs racing from room to room.
Nobody needed to ask whether something had gone wrong.
Fortunately, the building was secure, so none of the dogs could get outside. Staff members still had to scramble to gather the escapees and return them safely to their rooms.
They already suspected CJ.
The Camera Caught Everything
The security footage confirmed it. There she was.
The video showed CJ opening the gate before leading her friends toward the food.
The staff were hardly shocked.
CJ was already considered a known troublemaker.
Her intelligence, curiosity and determination make her talented at finding what she wants. Usually, that means food.
This time, she went several steps further.
She didn’t just find a way out.
She organized a jailbreak.
Even Her Mom Wasn’t Surprised
