Bay apparently decided waiting was not an option.
At an Ohio animal shelter, security cameras captured the young dog doing something nobody expected.
He looked across the fence at neighboring dogs, decided they looked like fun, and then climbed right over to meet them.
It was an impressive escape.
But Bay wasn’t trying to run away.

A Fence Wasn’t Going To Stop Him
Bay was staying at City Dogs Cleveland, where dogs spend time outside in individual runs.
The setup allows them to enjoy fresh air while safely seeing other dogs nearby.

There were other dogs on the other side of the fence.
Security footage shows Bay approaching the chain-link barrier and studying it. Then, instead of simply barking or pacing, he started climbing.
He worked his way upward, reached the top and scrambled over.
Suddenly, Bay wasn’t separated from his neighbors anymore.
He was standing right beside them.

On the other side were two shelter dogs named Pumpkin and Flip Flop.
Bay dropped into their area, and instead of causing panic, his surprise arrival seemed to create curiosity and excitement.
Shelter staff gave his adventure a playful name: the “Great Escape.”
But underneath the funny footage was something meaningful.
Bay clearly loves being around others.
He was searching for connection.
