Friday night had arrived.
For most people, that means finally putting your feet up after a long week.
For Toby, it meant something a little more luxurious.
A jacuzzi.
The 1-year-old Aussiedoodle apparently decided he had earned some serious relaxation time.
And when his mom found him enjoying a private soak, Toby didn’t exactly look embarrassed.
He looked comfortable.
Very comfortable.
In fact, he looked like a man who had just finished a five-day workweek and had absolutely no intention of answering questions.
Toby Had Already Made Himself Comfortable
The whole thing started when Toby’s mom walked into the backyard looking for him.
Instead of finding her dog running around the yard, she discovered him sitting in the jacuzzi.
Just sitting there.
Relaxing.
Taking in the moment.
She opened the sliding glass door and couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“What? It’s Friday night, and you’re just chillin’ in the jacuzzi?” she asked.
Then she made him an offer.
“Do you want a beer, or can I get you a margarita?”
Toby’s response?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
He didn’t jump out.
He didn’t look guilty.
He didn’t even seem particularly interested in the conversation.
He simply continued enjoying his evening.
Honestly, you have to admire the confidence.
Mom Wasn’t Giving Up
His mom walked all the way over to the side of the hot tub.
Still, Toby remained exactly where she had found him.
Apparently, this was his time.
She continued teasing him, eventually asking:
“Honestly, who do you think you are?”
And that’s when Toby finally looked away.
It was a tiny reaction.
But somehow, it made the entire scene even funnier.
Because if Toby could talk, you can almost imagine what he would have said.
“I’m busy.”
Or perhaps:
“Please respect my privacy.”
After all, a dog who has discovered a jacuzzi on Friday night clearly has priorities.
The Internet Had Plenty To Say
The video, shared by Finney Ranch on Instagram, quickly attracted plenty of attention.
More than 600 people joined the conversation in the comments, and viewers seemed to completely understand Toby’s decision to take some time for himself.
One commenter joked that Toby simply needed a moment to himself after a long, hard week.
Another imagined Toby essentially saying, “I’m relaxing,” while enjoying his party of one.
And honestly, it’s hard to argue with that interpretation.
Toby looked perfectly content.
No toys.
No games.
No running around.
Just warm water, fresh air and some uninterrupted relaxation.
Maybe Toby Has The Right Idea
Dogs spend their days following us around.
They wait for us.
They greet us when we come home.
They keep us company when we’re having a bad day.
And sometimes, they seem to understand something humans forget:
It’s okay to slow down.
Toby didn’t need a complicated plan.
He didn’t need an expensive vacation.
He found a jacuzzi and decided that was good enough.
And judging by his expression, he was completely satisfied with his choice.
Of course, his mom probably wasn’t expecting to find her dog soaking in the hot tub when she went looking for him.
But that’s part of what makes dogs so entertaining.
They can turn an ordinary Friday evening into a story you’ll remember.
One minute, you’re looking for your dog.
The next, you’re standing beside the jacuzzi wondering why he looks like he’s been paying the mortgage.
Toby wasn’t interested in getting out.
