Every family has that one member who simply cannot sit still.

You know the type. Everyone else is relaxing, enjoying a quiet afternoon, and minding their own business.

Meanwhile, one little ball of energy is running around like somebody forgot to install an off switch.

Apparently, dogs have that family member, too.

And in one hilarious video, a tiny Chihuahua has decided that a dog bed is the perfect place to burn off some serious energy.

His enormous Beauceron brother? He would very much like everyone to calm down.

One Dog Wants Peace. The Other Wants Speed.

The funny video, shared by the Instagram account @southsidejules2, features two dogs with completely different ideas about how to spend their time.

The Beauceron is stretched out comfortably on the floor beside a large, cozy dog bed. He looks perfectly content to relax and let the world carry on around him.

Then there’s his little Chihuahua brother.

This tiny white dynamo has apparently decided that sitting still is wildly overrated.

Instead, he races around the dog bed, completing lap after lap with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for professional race car drivers.

Round and round he goes.

And just when you think he might finally stop, he keeps going!

The difference between the two dogs makes the whole scene even funnier.

One is a giant, composed gentleman who appears perfectly happy to lounge around. The other looks like a wind-up toy that’s been turned to maximum speed.

It’s difficult not to wonder what the big guy is thinking as his little brother tears around him.

Does he find the performance entertaining? Is he wondering when the noise will stop? Or has he simply accepted that this is what life with a Chihuahua looks like?

Whatever the answer, his patience deserves a medal.

The Internet Can’t Get Enough

Naturally, viewers had plenty to say about the little dog’s energetic performance.

One person joked that the dog bed was essentially a full-sized racetrack for the Chihuahua.

Another wondered where the owner had purchased such an impressive wind-up toy.

And one particularly funny comment described the little dog’s movements perfectly: “Just going nowhere, but real fast!”

Honestly, that might be the best description of zoomies ever written.

The video is a reminder that dogs don’t need elaborate entertainment to have a wonderful time. Sometimes, an ordinary object becomes the center of an extraordinary adventure.

For this Chihuahua, a cozy bed wasn’t just somewhere to sleep.

It was a racecourse.

And his big brother had accidentally become the audience.

Why Do Dogs Get the Zoomies?

Those sudden bursts of frantic running are commonly called zoomies, or frenetic random activity periods.

Dogs may experience them when they’re excited, playful, overstimulated, or simply releasing pent-up energy.

Some get the zoomies after a bath, during playtime, or when their favorite person arrives home.

The behavior can look completely ridiculous, but it’s often a normal part of canine play.

Of course, dogs need enough room to run safely. Clearing obstacles and providing a suitable play area can help prevent accidental collisions, especially when a little dog is moving at full speed.

And while the Beauceron may look like a professional relaxation expert in this particular video, the breed is actually known for being intelligent, athletic, and energetic.

These large French herding dogs need regular exercise and mental stimulation, too.

Still, in this moment, his Chihuahua brother has clearly stolen the show.

Big Brother, Tiny Tornado

There’s something wonderful about watching two dogs share a home while displaying such completely different personalities.

One is happy to stretch out and enjoy the peace.

The other seems determined to turn every ordinary moment into an Olympic event.

And somehow, that contrast makes them even more entertaining together.
