For a Pit Bull mix named Buttercup, affection was all she ever seemed to ask for.
While waiting for a family at Cobb County Animal Services in Georgia, the sweet dog spent much of her time alone in her kennel, cuddling a plush toy.
Even when volunteers took her outside for some playtime, Buttercup wasn’t particularly interested in running around.
She just wanted to be close to someone.

Instead, they made the journey to Georgia to meet the sweet shelter dog and bring her into their family.
But nothing could have prepared them for the moment Buttercup finally saw her new dad.
