Get ready to meet your new favorite restaurant mascot!

For years, Summerhill’s beloved Little Bear restaurant was synonymous with Fernando, a majestic Great Pyrenees and local celebrity who embodied the “Little Bear” spirit.

His passing earlier this year left a huge void, not just in Chef Jarrett Stieber and Hallie Stieber’s hearts, but in the community as well.

But now, a new chapter is beginning, and it’s filled with puppy barks and heartwarming resilience!

Meet Diego, the Stiebers’ new rescue Great Pyrenees puppy, whose journey is nothing short of miraculous.

Found by Great Pyrenees Rescue Atlanta after being cruelly thrown from a moving car, Diego was battling infection, worms, and malnourishment when the Stiebers spotted him.

They weren’t looking for another dog, but destiny had other plans.

When they discovered Diego was born the day after Fernando passed, it felt like a sign.

What started as fostering quickly blossomed into adoption on June 17th.

Diego, a bundle of energetic, vocal puppy joy, is a delightful contrast to the mellow Fernando.

He’s a “super chewer” with a lot of training ahead, but his affectionate nature shines through.

As Diego’s training progresses, expect to see more of him greeting guests at Little Bear, continuing the legacy of canine charm.

Chef Stieber is even brainstorming new merchandise – will Diego join Fernando’s image, or claim the spotlight himself?

One thing’s for sure: Diego isn’t replacing Fernando, but forging his own paw print, bringing fresh joy to the Stieber family and the entire Little Bear community!
