Imagine pulling over on a quiet road, only to discover a black bin bag moving.
That’s exactly what happened to a vigilant driver on July 11th on Staithes Road in Preston, Yorkshire.
Inside, they found a heartbreaking sight: six tiny puppies, estimated to be just four to five weeks old, discarded and struggling for life.
These vulnerable French Bull/Chihuahua crosses were in a critical state, suffering from dehydration and overheating.
Had help not arrived when it did, the outcome could have been tragic, especially given their tender age and the scorching weather conditions.
Thankfully, the motorist swiftly brought them to the RSPCA Hull and East Riding Branch rehoming center, where dedicated staff immediately provided urgent veterinary care.
Centre Manager Carina Porte expressed her shock, noting that the puppies were far too young to be separated from their mother.
They are now receiving specialist foster care and will require a period of intensive recovery before they’re ready to find their forever homes.

RSPCA Inspector Laura Barber, investigating this callous act, is appealing to the public for information.
The most pressing concern now is not only finding those responsible for this abandonment but also locating the puppies’ mother, who is undoubtedly distressed and may also be in need of medical attention.
This incident serves as a stark and frustrating reminder of irresponsible breeding practices and the cruel abandonment of vulnerable animals.
