Roxanne isn’t just any dog. She’s a 4-year-old black-and-white Siberian Husky with mesmerizing blue eyes, a heart full of gentleness, and a mind that’s just as sharp as her striking coat.
Currently waiting for her forever home at the Lompoc Animal Center, Roxanne is the kind of dog who doesn’t just walk into a room — she lights it up.
At roughly 50 pounds, she’s the perfect size: not too big, not too small, just balanced.
The shelter team has plenty of praise for her: she’s sweet and social, truly a special companion.
She’s housebroken, potty trained, and—here’s the part that makes staff and volunteers smile—she doesn’t fence fight.
Neighbors walking past don’t spook her, other dogs don’t rile her up, and she doesn’t bark at passing people. In short, she’s calm, composed, and ready for a peaceful life.
One of Roxanne’s greatest strengths is her intelligence. A smart dog who learns quickly, she would benefit from a home that offers mental stimulation and gentle structure.
She doesn’t just crave attention — she thrives on it. Whether it’s a quiet evening cuddle or an active walk, she’s happiest knowing she’s with someone who cares.
The staff notes that Roxanne would do well in just about any loving environment.
She’s cozy with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet household. But she also has enough presence and personality to be the center of someone’s world.

If you’re ready to adopt, here’s what’s covered: Roxanne’s adoption includes her spay surgery, microchipping, vaccinations, a flea treatment, and a full health and wellness exam. In other words, she comes ready to roll — and ready to be loved.
The Lompoc branch of Santa Barbara County Animal Services is her current home base.
If you’re interested in meeting her, you can stop by Tuesday through Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., at their facility on West Central in Lompoc.
Prefer to call ahead? Their number is (833) 422-8413. The staff there has been nothing but kind, and they’re excited for Roxanne to find someone who will appreciate her for the gem she is.
If adopting isn’t in the cards for you right now, there are still ways to help.
Roxanne is cared for in partnership with CAPA — a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the medical and behavioral needs of shelter animals in Lompoc Valley.
If fostering is possible for you, or if you’d consider donating to CAMP’s wish list, you could make a big difference in Roxanne’s life.
You can follow CAPA on Facebook at Lompoc CAPA or check out their website to get involved.
When I picture Roxanne, I don’t just see a pretty Husky. I see loyalty. Gentleness. A soul that’s ready to love deeply and be loved in return.
She’s not a “project dog”; she’s a potential family member. And she’s not asking for much — just a home, a heart that matches hers, and a chance to be someone’s companion for years to come.
So if you’re looking for a calm, intelligent, and affectionate dog, take a minute. Let Roxanne’s blue eyes draw you in.
Let her story settle in your heart. And maybe — just maybe — she becomes your next best friend.
