His owner, Hannah Fouts, posted a TikTok video showing Bruno gazing longingly at a banana, eyes welling up until actual tears stream down his face.

But here’s the twist: those aren’t tears of sadness or even exaggerated hunger.
It turns out Bruno’s teary-eyed pleas are actually a side effect of a medical condition called Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), or dry eye.
After exhausting other treatments, Bruno underwent a special surgery to reroute a saliva gland to moisturize his eyes.
The surgery was a success, but with one truly adorable consequence: every time Bruno smells food, his saliva glands kick into overdrive, causing tears to flow!
This “food-induced crying” is so intense it can temporarily affect his vision, leading to some comical (but harmless) moments like bumping into walls.
