In Fresno County, California, a young pup’s sense of adventure got the better of him, and before he knew it, his head was stuck inside the center hole of a metal tire rim. The incident unfolded on Feb. 18, 2026, when firefighters with the Fresno County Fire Protection District received a call about a puppy trapped in what some responders jokingly described as a “wheel of misfortune.”
The little dog had managed to wedge his head through the rim’s hole — likely chasing a scent or poking at something that caught his attention — and then couldn’t figure out how to pull it back out without help.
Responders arrived at the scene and quickly recognized that this wasn’t an emergency involving fire or a dangerous collapse — it was a small, squirming dog in need of gentle assistance.
