In a truly astonishing and heartbreaking discovery, a two-year-old French Bulldog named Paris was found abandoned in a shopping cart on an unbarricaded rooftop in downtown L.A.
This perilous situation, where she was at risk of rolling off the edge and exposed to the harsh sun, was thankfully averted by a vigilant security guard.
Animal rescuer Joey Tuccio of “Starts with One Today,” a non-profit dedicated to helping Los Angeles’ unhoused community and their pets, was quickly on the scene.
With Paris’s safety hanging in the balance, Tuccio orchestrated her careful rescue from the dangerous perch.
Following her dramatic rescue, Paris was rushed to a vet.
While no microchip was found, the examination revealed she was underweight and suffering from conjunctivitis, both now being treated.
This abandonment sadly highlights a grim reality for some pets whose owners are struggling with addiction.

Despite her ordeal, Paris is proving to be incredibly resilient.
She’s currently in a foster home, rapidly learning to trust humans again and gaining confidence.
This sweet Frenchie is now happy, healthier, and actively seeking her loving forever home in the Los Angeles area.
The ideal adopter would be someone who can offer plenty of time and affection, ready to spoil this deserving pup.
Paris’s story is a powerful reminder of the many abandoned animals in need and the vital work of rescues in giving them a second chance at a joyful life.
