In a heart-wrenching turn of events, an 11-month-old puppy named Brixie endured unthinkable cruelty simply for eating her owner’s pizza.

A viral video from March showed a man brutally beating her in a car, leaving the then 8-month-old pup with devastating injuries.

Thanks to social media tips, police identified the alleged abuser, Justin Johnson, 34, and issued a warrant for aggravated animal cruelty. He is currently still at large.

Brixie’s injuries were severe: two broken hips, a human bite requiring 20 stitches, and numerous lacerations across her tiny body.

But thankfully, her nightmare ended when Tails of Hope Dog Rescue in Memphis, Tennessee, stepped in.

Under their compassionate care, Brixie began her long road to recovery.

Despite her harrowing past, Brixie’s spirit remains unbroken.

“She has been through unthinkable cruelty, yet she is still full of love,” the rescue shared.

“Despite everything, her tail never stopped wagging, and she never stopped giving kisses.”

This resilient pup radiates pure love, a testament to her incredible strength.

To celebrate her progress and raise vital funds for her ongoing medical care—estimated at $7,800 for injuries and two tick-borne diseases—Tails of Hope threw Brixie her very own pizza party at a Mellow Mushroom in Germantown.

Community members gathered to meet the brave pup, snag limited-edition Brixie merchandise, and contribute to her healing journey.

Brixie still faces one more surgery and ongoing physical therapy, but with the unwavering support of Tails of Hope and a loving community, she’s finally getting the care and celebration she truly deserves.
