In April 2025, Guinness World Records orchestrated a delightful rendezvous in Idaho Falls between two canine celebrities: Reginald, a 7-year-old Great Dane from Idaho, and Pearl, a 4-year-old Chihuahua from Florida. Reginald, affectionately known as Reggie, stands at a towering 3 feet 3 inches (1.007 meters), while Pearl measures a mere 3.59 inches (9.14 centimeters) tall.

Despite their staggering size difference, the two dogs quickly formed a bond. Reggie’s owner, Sam Johnson Reiss, noted that Reggie was gentle and cautious around Pearl, ensuring he didn’t accidentally harm her. Pearl’s owner, Vanesa Semler, was initially apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised by Reggie’s demeanor.

The two-day playdate was filled with heartwarming moments. Pearl, undeterred by Reggie’s size, zipped around him playfully, while Reggie watched over her with a protective gaze. They shared toys, explored the backyard, and even took naps together.

Both dogs have unique personalities. Pearl, described by Semler as a “diva,” enjoys selecting her outfits daily. Reggie, on the other hand, has his own quirks, including a fondness for attention and a mischievous streak.

This extraordinary meeting serves as a testament to the idea that friendship knows no bounds. Despite their differences, Reggie and Pearl found common ground, reminding us all of the simple joys of companionship.
