Senior dogs have a special way of making you slow down.

Keno, a 16-year-old Dachshund, is one of those dogs.
Sadly, his story could have ended very differently.

At 16 years old, Keno naturally has some age-related challenges.
He’s carrying a little extra weight and has cataracts, both of which are concerns that can occur in older dogs.
But those things haven’t diminished his ability to enjoy life.
Keno still appreciates good food, comfortable surroundings and gentle attention.
What he needs most is an environment where nobody expects him to behave like a young dog.
He needs patience.
He needs veterinary care.
And he needs people who understand that giving a senior dog a comfortable life is just as meaningful as giving a puppy a new beginning.
