After five years with a family, Crème suddenly found herself in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by strange sounds and unfamiliar faces.
And she couldn’t understand why her life had changed so completely.
A Heartbroken Dog in a Shelter Kennel
Crème was brought to the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida after her owner’s medical emergency left them unable to care for her.
The shelter shared her story in a TikTok video, showing the gentle giant lying in her kennel and whimpering.
The accompanying message described a dog grieving the family she had known for five years.
For Crème, the shelter wasn’t simply a new place to sleep. It meant being separated from the people and routines that had made up her world.
Anyone who has loved a dog knows how deeply they become part of our everyday lives. They learn our habits, follow us from room to room, and find comfort in simply being near us.
Crème had experienced that kind of life. Now, she was waiting for another chance to belong.
A Gentle Giant With an Enormous Heart

According to the Humane Society, she is friendly with adults and children and gets along with other dogs and cats.
In fact, her gentle nature reportedly extended to stray kittens that wandered into her yard. Rather than treating them as intruders, Crème tried to lick and nurture them.
It’s a beautiful glimpse into the personality of a dog whose size might intimidate people who haven’t had the chance to know her.
Crème also has excellent manners and knows basic commands. She enjoys car rides, chewing on bones, and, most importantly, spending time with people.
