The water was coming.

And this little Bernese Mountain Dog puppy had no idea what was about to happen.

His first bath could have gone one of two ways.

He could have panicked.

Or he could have turned the whole experience into an adorable adventure.

Thankfully, he chose the second.

The fluffy puppy quickly became the star of a video showing his first real introduction to bath time.

And instead of looking frightened, he seemed fascinated by practically everything around him.

First came the brush.

Rather than sitting quietly and accepting his grooming session, the puppy decided the brush itself deserved some attention.

He chewed on it.

Because, apparently, everything is a potential puppy toy.

Then came the wipes.

Those didn’t escape his attention either.

He tried to eat them.

It was the kind of completely ridiculous puppy behavior that makes it nearly impossible to stay serious around a baby dog.

But eventually, there was no avoiding the main event.

Water.

For a puppy experiencing his first bath, there were plenty of unfamiliar sensations to process.

The water.

The grooming.

The handling.

The strange new routine.

Yet the little Bernese seemed remarkably comfortable with it all.

He simply went along for the ride, looking every bit like the fluffy little teddy bear he was.

And viewers couldn’t get enough.

The puppy’s sweet personality made the ordinary experience of getting cleaned up feel like a major event.

There was something irresistible about watching him discover each new part of the process.

Every movement was curious.

Every expression was adorable.

And that’s exactly what his breeder was doing.

Unfortunately, there was one part of the adventure viewers never got to see.

The post-bath drying session.

The breeder reportedly ran out of storage on the phone before that footage could be captured.

Which is probably the most relatable ending imaginable to a puppy video.

Because apparently, even a phone can’t hold enough footage for one exceptionally cute Bernese Mountain Dog.

Still, what was captured was more than enough to make people fall in love.

The puppy didn’t need to perform some incredible trick.

He didn’t need to learn a complicated command.

He simply needed to experience one of those ordinary puppy milestones that owners remember forever.

And somehow, he made it memorable.

That’s one of the magical things about puppies.

Everything is new to them.

A brush can become a toy.

A wipe can become something to investigate.

Water can become an entirely new experience.

This little Bernese has plenty of firsts still ahead of him.

His first big adventure.
