There are dogs who get caught doing something naughty and immediately look guilty.
Their ears go back. Their eyes drop. Their tails slow down.
And then there’s Greta.
This little Mini Dachshund was caught in the middle of a paper-shredding operation, surrounded by the evidence of her handiwork.
But instead of looking embarrassed, apologizing, or even pretending she had no idea what happened, she gave the camera a look that practically screamed, “And your point is?”
Honestly, it’s hard to argue with that level of confidence.
The Scene of the Crime
Greta’s human shared a video showing the chocolate-and-tan Dachshund lounging on a gray couch.
Sounds peaceful enough, right?
Except for one rather important detail.
The couch was covered in shredded paper.
Little pieces were scattered all around Greta, making it pretty obvious that something had happened while nobody was looking.
And there she was, sitting right in the middle of it all.
The funniest part wasn’t even the mess itself. It was Greta’s reaction when she was caught.

She simply stared at the camera with an expression so calm and unbothered that it seemed as though she couldn’t understand why anyone would make a fuss.
The text accompanying the video summed up the moment perfectly: “when you get caught but don’t care.”
And judging by Greta’s expression, she wasn’t about to dispute that description.
One viewer imagined her thinking, “Welp, I better finish what I started!”
Another joked about loving the way she looked at the camera.
You can almost picture the conversation.
Her human: “Greta, what happened here?”
Greta: “I don’t know. Have you considered getting a better paper storage system?”
Of course, those aren’t her actual words. But that face certainly leaves room for interpretation!
Why Are Dachshunds So Good at Getting Into Trouble?
Greta’s little adventure might look like simple mischief, but there’s an interesting reason dogs can find shredding so satisfying.
Dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers. Their working background encouraged behaviors such as digging, investigating, and persistently pursuing things.
Those instincts haven’t necessarily disappeared just because today’s Dachshunds spend their afternoons lounging on couches.
To a curious dog, paper can be irresistible. It’s easy to grab, makes satisfying noises when torn, and provides an activity that requires very little effort.
For a dog looking for entertainment, a stack of paper might seem like a wonderful discovery.
Unfortunately, the human who owns that paper may have a slightly different opinion.
And while Greta’s video is undeniably funny, paper shredding can become a safety concern if dogs swallow pieces, encounter staples, or get hold of documents containing potentially harmful materials.
Keeping important papers out of reach and offering suitable chew toys or enrichment activities can help redirect that enthusiasm.
Greta can still be a playful little Dachshund without turning the living room into a recycling center.
The Internet Knows This Look All Too Well
Greta’s video struck a chord with dog owners who have experienced similar disasters at home.
One commenter admitted that paper products were a big attraction in their household, too.
Another shared a more expensive tale involving a dog that shredded a $20 bill and a favorite album while teething.
Suddenly, Greta’s couch catastrophe didn’t seem quite so bad.
Her video attracted more than 1,000 likes, with viewers enjoying the combination of canine mischief and unapologetic attitude.
And really, who hasn’t caught a dog doing something questionable, only to find that the dog looks far less concerned than the person cleaning up?
Greta might have left a mountain of paper behind, but she also gave everyone a reason to laugh.
