Going to the vet isn’t always the most exciting experience for a dog.
But when Lucy, an adorable Pug puppy, arrived at a veterinary office in Memphis, Tennessee, she somehow turned an ordinary appointment into the cutest event of the day.
The tiny pup had barely made her entrance before the staff at The Pet Hospitals decided they needed some quality cuddle time.
Instead of simply waiting for Lucy’s examination, several employees gathered around her, each hoping to get a chance to hold or pet the precious puppy.
Before long, it looked less like a routine veterinary visit and more like a meet-and-greet with the newest celebrity in town.
“Get in line for the newest Pug puppy in town!” text on the video joked.
And apparently, that was exactly what everyone intended to do.
Lucy was passed from one adoring staff member to another as people took turns getting their puppy fix.
One person even asked if there was a line, apparently perfectly happy to wait for her opportunity to say hello.
Another staff member jokingly cut ahead just to sneak in a quick pet before Lucy was handed off again.
It’s easy to understand why.
Lucy’s sweet face and tiny size were enough to completely distract everyone around her. As one staff member cuddled the puppy, she couldn’t help asking, “Why are you so cute?” before declaring Lucy perfect.
The little Pug seemed just as comfortable with all the attention. At one point, she happily nibbled on the woman’s fingers, giving her a reason to delay handing Lucy over for her actual appointment.
Eventually, though, Lucy had to give up her temporary position as the office’s most popular puppy and get on with the reason she had come to the vet.
Still, it’s safe to say she had already made quite an impression.
Pugs are famous for packing enormous personalities into their small bodies. Their playful and quirky nature makes them especially easy to fall in love with, and Lucy appeared to have no trouble winning over everyone she met.
The breed also has a long history. Pugs can be traced back to ancient China, and their distinctive flat faces, expressive eyes, and compact bodies have made them recognizable for centuries.
They’re also known for their tendency to snort, grunt, and snore because of their short, pushed-in faces.
And while Lucy may have been tiny, she certainly had the power to stop an entire room in its tracks.
Her visit is a sweet reminder that sometimes the smallest dogs can make the biggest impression. A routine appointment became a memorable moment simply because one adorable Pug puppy showed up and gave everyone a reason to smile.
For the veterinary staff, Lucy wasn’t just another patient waiting for an examination.
