Bringing home a rescue puppy is filled with excitement, but it’s also a huge adjustment.
Everything is unfamiliar—the people, the smells, the sounds, and the surroundings. Many puppies spend their first few days feeling shy or overwhelmed as they slowly learn to trust their new family.
But every once in a while, a puppy arrives who acts as though they’ve been part of the family all along.
That’s exactly what happened with a lovable Great Pyrenees puppy named Gesso.
Although she had only been with her new family for a few weeks, Gesso wasted no time making herself feel right at home. Her family has been documenting her adoption journey, and one especially heartwarming moment has captured the hearts of dog lovers everywhere.
It all started with a family sleepover.
Wanting to help Gesso feel as comfortable as possible during her first days at home, everyone decided to spend the night together in the living room.
Instead of sleeping in separate bedrooms, the family gathered around their newest member to make her first nights feel a little less overwhelming.
The plan turned into a memory they’ll never forget.
When morning arrived, Gesso woke up full of energy—and immediately set out on an adorable mission.

Rather than stretching and wandering off on her own, the fluffy puppy excitedly ran around the room, greeting each family member one by one.
Her little tail wagged nonstop as she happily bounced from person to person, making sure everyone received their own special good morning.
It was impossible not to smile.
Watching Gesso’s excitement made it clear that she already felt safe, loved, and completely at home.
According to her new family, bedtime hadn’t gone exactly as planned.
They initially tried introducing Gesso to a crate for the night, but the young puppy wasn’t comfortable sleeping there just yet. Instead of forcing the issue, they allowed her to sleep wherever she felt most secure.
It turned out to be the perfect decision.
Gesso settled in beautifully and was, according to her family, “a little angel” throughout the night.
By morning, she seemed happier than ever.
Her affectionate personality quickly won over viewers online, many of whom couldn’t get enough of the sweet puppy making her rounds to greet every member of her new family.
Moments like these highlight just how quickly some rescue puppies begin to bond when they’re surrounded by patience and kindness.
Of course, every puppy adjusts at their own pace.
Some settle in within hours, while others need days or even weeks before they truly relax. Both experiences are completely normal.
Animal welfare experts recommend making the transition as smooth as possible by keeping routines calm and predictable during the first week.
Feeding a puppy the same food they’re already familiar with, providing a cozy bed and plenty of toys, and giving them a quiet space where they can retreat if they feel overwhelmed can all help them build confidence.
Most importantly, new puppies need time.
Trust isn’t something that can be rushed.
For Gesso, though, it seems trust came naturally.
Whether she was sleeping peacefully among her new family or greeting everyone with enthusiastic tail wags the next morning, she showed that she was ready to embrace this new chapter with her whole heart.
Her story is a beautiful reminder of what rescue is all about.
Sometimes all it takes is a safe place, a little patience, and a family willing to meet a puppy where she is.
And judging by Gesso’s joyful morning greetings, it’s safe to say she already knows she’s exactly where she belongs.
